Aufgrund eines unvorhergesehenen gesundheitlichen Problems muss die Sommer Tournee von Carla Bley Trios leider abgesagt werden. 

Carla darf laut ihren Ärzten zum aktuellen Zeitpunkt nicht fliegen. Sie kann daher in den nächsten Wochen keine Konzerte in Europa spielen.

Wir hoffen, dass sich ihr Gesundheitszustand baldmöglichst verbessert, damit sie bald wieder nach Europa kommen kann. In dem Fall werden wir umgehend einen Nachholtermin bekanntgeben.

Wir bedauern sehr und hoffen auf Ihr Verständnis – auch Carla ist unendlich traurig, sie hat in ihrer 60-Jährigen Karriere noch nie eine Tour absagen müssen.

Because of an unexpected health issue, we unfortunately have to cancel the summer tour of Carla Bley Trios. 

According to her doctors, at the moment she is unable to fly and can therefore not play any concerts in Europe. 

We hope that her health will improve enough soon so that she can come back to Europe.

We are very sorry about this cancellation and hope for your understanding. Carla is devastated – she has never had to cancel a show in the past.

Die amerikanische Pianistin, Komponistin und Bandleaderin Carla Bley ist zweifellos eine lebende Jazz-Legende, die sich mit ihren innovativen und geistreichen Kompositionen einen großen Namen machte. Mit ihrer Jazz-Oper „Escalator Over The Hill“ hat sie ebenso Jazzgeschichte geschrieben wie als Arrangeurin für Charlie Hadens „Liberation Music Orchestra“. Ihr Weg führte sie schon durch viele Formationen, doch ihr Trio ist etwas ganz Besonderes: Einer von Carla Bleys ältesten musikalischen Partnern ist ihr Lebensgefährte Steve Swallow, der 1968 den Kontrabass in die Ecke stellte und zu einem der führenden E-Bassisten wurde. Der vielseitige und einfallsreiche britische Saxophonist Andy Sheppard zählt zu den Weggefährten der beiden. Gemeinsam musizieren sie seit den frühen 90ern. Das Zusammenspiel der drei harmoniert auf wundervolle Art und Weise.

After years of composing for other artists, Bley’s recording of her 1971 jazz-rock opera Escalator Over the Hill announced a startlingly unique and powerful voice. The composer, pianist, organist and band leader has continued to produce a remarkable body of work across almost 30 albums, in small groups and big bands, most notably with Charlie Haden’s Liberation Music Orchestra. In 2015 she was recognised with the NEA Jazz Master award – the highest honour an American jazz artist can receive.

Her chamber trio with Steve Swallow (Gary Burton, John Scofield, Art Farmer) and Andy Sheppard (Gil Evans, Randy Brecker) displays the sophisticated interaction and inspiring intimacy that comes from 20 years of collaboration.
